Renaming a Topic

We currently have six content topics on CERG's site:

  • Agrivoltaics
  • Alternative Energy Sources
  • Community & Indigenous Energy
  • Energy Policy
  • True Cost of Fossil Fuels
  • Other Works

If you want to rename one of these topics, you will need to update the following:

  • The topic's tag in AEM's Tagging system.
  • The topic's name in its Working Paper templates.
  • The name on the Publications & Multimedia page .
  • The name of the topic in this documentation.

1. Update the tag in AEM

  1. Go to AEM's Tagging system and find the tag for the topic you want to rename.

  2. Right click and edit the tag to change its public-facing name.

  3. Save the tag.
  4. Right click and click move to rename its internal name. Make sure it is lowercase and has hyphens instead of spaces. For example, if you are renaming the "True Cost of Fossil Fuels" topic to "Fossil Fuel Costs", the internal name should be fossil-fuel-costs.
  5. Activate the tag to save your changes.

2. Update Working Paper templates

  1. Go to the Working Paper templates folder in OneDrive.

  2. Find the folder for the topic you want to rename and rename it to the new topic name.

  3. Open each of the 4 templates in the folder and update the topic name on the cover page to the new topic name.
  4. Save the templates and close them.

3. Update Publications & Multimedia page

  1. Go to the Publications & Multimedia page.

  2. Right click on the topic name and select Edit.

  3. Click on the Source Edit button in the toolbar (the last button in the toolbar).
  4. In the source code, find the topic name and change it to the new topic name.
  5. Press OK to save the changes.
  6. While in the page, go to the top of the page and update the topic in the "Jump to a topic" section to the new topic name.
  7. Activate the page to save your changes.

4. Update in this documentation

The easiest way is to update the tag in this documentation is to email Max.

If you are proficient with GitHub, you can update the name of the topic yourself by editing the following files in the GitHub repository:
